Phoenix Park Honey Bees

Phoenix Park Honey Bees

Listen to the Phoenix Park Bee Keepers discuss their award winning honey:

The gardens in the Phoenix Park Visitors' Centre are buzzing with the sound of bees! The honey produced here has won several awards and has been acclaimed by The London Honey Show and The Clonmel Honey Show.

Beekeeping in the gardens began several years ago, with the intent of conserving and protecting the Irish Honey Bee. The bees play a vital role in the pollinating of fruits and flowers in the Phoenix Park and are an invaluable asset to the natural environment and food chain.

There are three full-time beekeepers for the hives. Anyone interested in beekeeping is welcome to come down to the walled gardens to observe.
